CANVAS Takeover

Fri 31 May, 2024 Archive
CANVAS, a citywide project which harnesses the energies and creativity of young people and families in the local area, is taking over Derby Theatre in May…and you are invited!

Come and join us to see and celebrate the incredible talent and vibrant energy of Derby’s young people. The CANVAS Takeover will take place in various locations inside Derby Theatre, and will be an evening filled with performances by local young people, with a variety of acts including dancers, singers, bands, spoken word artists, plus much more!

This event is a true testament to the boundless creativity and potential of our city’s youth. Immerse yourself in a world of creativity, inspiration and fun as we come together to support and celebrate the next generation of artists and performers as they take their rightful place in the spotlight.

The CANVAS Takeover takes off from 5pm – with an art exhibition of work created by young people and open mic sessions, followed by a wonderful variety of acts and events on the main stage from 6.30pm.

Pay What You Can

Pay what you can at a price you can afford (or wish to donate). All proceeds from the event will go directly to the CANVAS project, allowing us to continue to provide FREE opportunities for young people aged 0-30 across Derby and the local area.

This CANVAS Takeover is funded by Arts Council England & Derby City Council.
