We will be sharing information re: participating at the East Midlands National Exhibition of Performance Design 2023 in Spring 2023 (venue(s) TBC) and the Prague Quadrennial 2023
This FREE event is open to theatre and performance designers and creative practitioners from the East Midlands (and beyond) who are established in the field; are early-career; mid-career; are studying performance design or any wider relevant topic.
We want to capture thoughts and practice from East Midlands in relation to:
- Industry of performance design and wider spatial design
- Community work and various design processes which happen outside conventional theatre venues and
- The thinking/reflection of designers in the region in relation to:
1). Opportunities in the East Midlands for early career, mid-career and established designers;
2). Creativity, research and innovation;
3). Environmental responsibility;
4). Accessibility and inclusivity;
5). Imagining the future of performance design in the region.
The workshop will take place at the Main Stage of Derby Theatre using a set of creative tasks shared between the whole group to facilitate conversation.
The recorded voices from this workshop will be used at an exhibition (venue TBC) in the Spring, where a number of structures will be used as a way of hosting the designers’ works and thoughts.
