The United Colours of Derby is a local event curated by our dedicated Normanton Steering Group that will celebrate the people who make our city bright and vibrant. Enjoy a catwalk and performances from 10 different acts including live music, dance and stunning vocals accompanied by styles ranging from hip hop culture, 1960s outfits and stunning cultural heritage clothing.
This colourful event is all about celebrating local people, creativity, and the rich cultural diversity that brings our communities together.

We’re looking for cultural creatives to join our performance line up for United Colours of Derby on Sun 2 Nov at Normanton Library. United Colours of Derby is a cultural event to celebrate fashion and talent from around the world. The successful acts will do a catwalk in their chosen outfit and either perform a song/dance/variety or give a short talk about the significance of their outfit.
We welcome all types of clothing including decades, tributes, different music cultures and traditional cultural clothing. Whether you want to showcase hip hop culture, your best 1960s outfit or your cultural heritage – all are welcome!
The successful acts will also be considered for a performance on the main stage at Derby Theatre in January 2026!
