Join us for our very own Stockbrook community showcase featuring soloists, duets, and groups from around Derby. Performing in styles ranging form contemporary, urban, acro to afro, this show will showcase a variety of styles and the pool of talent we have in the area.
It’ll be a celebration of movement, music, and community as well as the wonderful local artists. Join us to learn more about various dance classes form individual teachers and studios for all ages, meet like minded people and connect with other creatives.
The event will be hosted by our Steering Group member – Changu, and music on the day will be played by DJ Nova.

ARA Movement
Duet
ARA Movement presents Motus. Derived from Proto-Italic language, “Motus” observes a personal representation of the desire to move and be moved. ARE movement is a company focused on education and community engagement. Currently delivering classes across Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire from adults to early years. Classes are focused on choreography and improvisation, ballet, contemporary, progressive ballet technique, and street jazz. Private lessons also available. Ana delivers technique with a focus on how the movement feels from within, allowing the dancers to immerse themselves in their nature rhythm.

Heat Studios
Group/Solo
Located on Nuns Street in Derby, Heat Studios offer a wide variety of classes from Latin to aerial, from commercial and gymnastics – they have a class for you! Age ranges from 18 months to adult. Heat Studios will present two groups, hip hop and urban as well as two acro soloists.

Changu
Host/Solo
Changu is a passionate, self-taught dancer who have been involved in the dance scene for several years. Her experience ranges from teaching classes at Stagecoach Nottingham, delivering workshops for corporate team building days, to performing at a variety of venues – most notably in a Derby Theatre production of 4 Walls.
She will be hosting as well as doing an introduction in to Afro Classes. Changu currently has 1 class running each month with a view to scaling up to 1 a week in the future.
The performance will include Changu teaching the audience some basic afro moves and talking about her classes. You can join in or observe, whichever is more comfortable!

DJ Nova
DJ Nova is an artist and producer based in the East Midlands. He will provide music and entertainment and cue tracks on the day.
