About the MOVE ME Project
MOVE ME is part of the CANVAS initiative, which connects young people with arts organisations and creatives across Derby. Through workshops, mentoring, and live events, CANVAS nurtures the next generation of creative voices and ensures access to free, inclusive activities in safe spaces.
Our Early Years Hub delivers free dance and movement sessions for children aged 0–5 and their grown-ups, based in three Derby City Family Hubs.
Role Descriptions
Lead Artist (Cover Work)

Plan, lead, and evaluate high-quality early years movement sessions.

Work with children aged 0–5 and their families.

Attend early years (EY) training when appropriate.
-
Build and maintain positive relationships with children, parents, Family Hub (FH) staff, and CANVAS staff.

Create a welcoming and inclusive environment.
Support Artist
-
Support the lead artist in weekly sessions.
-
Attend any relevant EY training.
-
Help foster a friendly and engaging space for families.

Build and maintain positive relationships with all participants and staff.
