Derby Theatre is delighted to announce that they will produce and present Extra Time this autumn, on from Saturday 9 – Sunday 17 October 2021.
About Derby CAN
Derby CAN (Creative Arts Network) is a 3-year, multi-partner Arts Council England £1.5 million funded project led by Derby Theatre.
The project focus is to work, co-curate and co-create with different communities to support and strengthen the performing arts sector in the local area, and Extra Time embodies this by bringing together a wealth of theatre makers, fans, creatives and communities together to create this exciting and unique live theatre experience.
About Extra Time
A rousing theatrical feast for any football fan or theatregoer, Extra Time is a pitch-perfect tribute to Derby, its people and its club, a must-see, uplifting show to bask in the glory and nostalgia of the 1946 FA Cup win, and to celebrate DCFC and our great city. Created by the people of Derby for the people of Derby.
Extra Time sees football and performance go head-to-head to deliver a unique and impassioned live experience about Derby County Football Club, the fans and our city. Football is coming to Derby Theatre this autumn.
Sarah Brigham (Artistic Director, CEO and Director of Extra Time) said:
“I am incredibly excited about Extra Time and sharing this unique and exciting live show with our audiences and community. It’s a project we have been developing throughout the pandemic.
We started with the fans, of course, asking them to tell us about their memories and passion for the club, this has influenced the writing, and I can’t wait to get into the rehearsal room with Jamie and a group of theatre makers from across the city and beyond to shape this into a unique night to remember.
Jamie is Derby’s finest talent, and I can’t wait to bring his words, ideas and passion for the club to the stage. Extra Time is going to be a real theatrical treat for football and theatre fans this autumn. Come on Derby!”
