The Time Machine and Abigail’s Party will be going on priority sale for Derby Theatre Friends at 12pm on Wednesday 2 November, and on general sale at 12pm on Friday 4 November.
From Tuesday 7 until Saturday 11 March, the award-winning, UK-based touring theatre company, The Original Theatre company will tour to Derby Theatre with The Time Machine, a hilarious roller-coaster ride of a show and a brilliant new take on H.G. Wells classic science fiction novella. Fast-paced and wise-cracking, this an adaptation like no other. Expect the most surprising and unforeseen consequences as audiences are taken on a journey through time to travel to the end of the earth’s life in order to reflect on our own.
In April, we will play host to London Classic Theatre’s production of Abigail’s Party, Mike Leigh’s iconic and ferocious black comedy and landmark production of twentieth century theatre. Abigail’s Party premièred at Hampstead Theatre in 1977, with the role of Beverly being immortalised by Alison Steadman. A record sixteen million people watched its broadcast as Play for Today, underlining its status as a true modern classic and national treasure.
