World Poetry Day – ‘SpokeCAN’ Word

To celebrate World Poetry Day on Tuesday 21 March, Derby CAN (creative arts network) are partnering with Derby Theatre to host a poetry, spoken word open mic marathon!

This will include local artists, students, schools, community and local projects such as the Reimagine project, Plus one and Derby Poetry festival. Anyone has the chance to write a piece and voice their words or recite their favourite poem.

You can come along to watch, enjoy the delights of the café, sit and chat with us about what other things you wold like to see happening in the community or get up on the mic and let us hear your voice!

12pm – 6pm will include family-friendly performances for all.

6pm – 9pm will contain adult language and may not be suitable to a younger audience.

To register your interest to perform, please email the Reimagine team at reimagine@derby.ac.uk.

Please include the information below:

  • Your group size (or if you are a solo performer.)
  • Preferred time slot
  • How long you will perform/how many pieces (Max of 8 minutes and this can be one or multiple pieces.)
  • A contact for you if you are a group.
