Lennie and George are unlikely best friends, two drifters bound together by a shared faith and the ambition to live the great American dream. Landing a job on a Californian ranch during the Great Depression, their hopes of earning money to eventually buy a place of their own are raised, and then wholly shattered in a heart-breaking conclusion.
Of Mice and Men remains as powerful and relevant today as it did when originally written in 1937. Based on Steinbeck’s classic novella, and with themes of friendship, migration and prejudice, this play continues to move and resonate with audiences of all ages and backgrounds.
Don’t miss this evocative, compelling story laced with tragedy…a must-see production for anyone who has ever tried to pursue a long-held dream.

Creative Audio Description
All performances from Thursday 13 February will feature Creative Audio Description, performed in character by the cast of the show.
What is a Creative Audio Described performance?
The Creative Audio Description for Of Mice and Men will be seamlessly woven into the production, enhancing the performance rather than serving as an add-on. The creative audio will provide descriptions of the set, characters, key visuals and onstage action, plus commentary of some of the activity on stage, performed in character by some of the cast members – all integrated naturally within the dialogue. Creative Audio Described performances enrich the experience for all audience members, including those who are blind or visually impaired. The creative audio description has been created with Hear the Picture and Jo Mousley in collaboration with the company.
How do I access the Creative Audio Description?
There are two ways to access the creative audio description. For this show, we are presenting a new audio-accessibility solution from Sennheiser. To use this system, before your visit please download the Sennheiser MobileConnect App onto the device you are bringing with you.
You can find this by searching Sennheiser MobileConnect in the Apple or Google Play app store. Or by using the links below:
On the night, remember your device and your own headphones or earbuds. Connect to the special OMAM Audio Description Wifi, start the app and enjoy the show!
There are detailed instructions available by clicking the button below – please arrive in plenty of time for us to help support you and also so that you can hear the pre-show information.
If you prefer, our usual audio description system will also be broadcasting the creative audio description so you can also take part using the theatre equipment that you are used to.
