Derby CAN, led by Derby Theatre and other cultural partners, is looking for local performers and people who would like to be involved in Over to You, an exciting, brand-new show that will be performed in a big top tent in the beautiful surroundings of Markeaton Park in September.
Who is this for?
- Anyone who lives in Derby and the surrounding areas – within a 5-mile radius of the city
- For people aged 18 or over (no upper age limit)
- Maybe you are interested in photography or film?
- Maybe you want to sing, dance or act?
- Maybe you have ideas about what the show should be about?
- Maybe you have never done anything like this before and want to give it a go!
What will I do?
- Take part in 3 workshops where you will play, explore and share stories about people and places in Derby, and celebrate what makes you, you.
- With the help of a professional theatre maker, we want you to be a part of creating a brand-new show using the ideas generated in the workshops.
- The group will perform your show on Saturday 10 September in the evening

When do I need to be available?
You will need to be available on the following dates…
Workshop Dates:
- Saturday 13 August
- Saturday 20 August
- Saturday 3 September
All from 10am until 6pm
Rehearsal and Performance Dates:
- Rehearsal: Monday 5 – Friday 9 September
- Performance: Saturday 10 September
You will need to be available each evening from Mon 5 – Fri 9 Sep, and all day on Sat 10 Sep.
Creating and Making Sessions:
Monday 5 – Friday 9 September

How do I apply?
- Download and complete the application form and email it to derbycan@derby.ac.uk with Over to You Co-Creation Show in the subject line.
- You can also send an audio or video application, including an application in British Sign Language. Please attach the files in an mp4 format, ensuring that they are no higher than 10MB, and send them to derbycan@derby.ac.uk via a wetransfer link
- Call in at the Derby Theatre Box Office to fill in an application form.

All levels of experience are welcome to apply.
